| After leaving corporate America in early 2000, where she supported staff in 47 states in the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, Ms. Kennedy founded Knowledge Solutions, a training and consulting company that specializes in the Minimum Data Set (MDS), RAI process, and the Medicare's Prospective Payment System (PPS). Additionally, her long term care career included experience as a Director of Clinical Services, Director of Nursing, Director of Admissions, and Director of Clinical Assessment.
As president of Knowledge Solutions she has enjoyed numerous contracts including, but not limited to:
- Expert Consultant to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), formerly the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), where she contributed to the "CMS' MDS Q&A Addendum 2" July, 2001.
- Executive Clinical Editor to the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC) She served as author and project manager for the implementation of their online education program, and founded their weekly online newsletter, the "NAC News".
- MDS Consultant to the state of Texas, under contract to the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Office of Investigations and Enforcement (OIE).
- Consultant to the state of Texas, under contract to the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
- MDS/RAI educator for the state of Texas, under sponsorship by the Texas Health Care Association (THCA) and the Texas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (TAHSA) through the Educational Institute on Aging (EAI).
- Clinical Informatics sub-contractor to Quality IT Partners.

Ms. Kennedy has served as a founding board member and Chairman of the Professional Development Committee for the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators (AANAC); Long Term Care Program Advisory Committee Member; and Faculty Member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
